For your transport of the most natural seawater for aquariums, laboratories and nurseries.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and the other countries of Europe with seawater for aquariums to laboratories. Sustainably obtained seawater using environmentally friendly transport on HVO fuel.

What do we deliver?

We supply pure North Sea water from the Ooststerschelde!

We bring it to your company in your tanks and do so with environmentally friendly transport. Sustainable seawater, so that the extraction of groundwater is no longer necessary!

One phone call and our trucks are driving.
It is now never necessary to make your salt water yourself.

Origin of the Seawater

The seawater we supply comes exclusively from the Oosterschelde. It is the purest and most natural seawater that the Dutch coast is rich and therefore special. Purely due to, among other things, the lack of freight shipping and the implementation of the Delta plan.

We use special tanks made of insulated and stainless steel material. We only use our specialized tanks for transporting water, so that we keep the seawater really clean.

The tides are closely monitored during each filling moment. As a result, we get the purest Oosterschelde water in our tank. We know from experience that the seawater from the Oosterschelde is the purest of its kind. Yet it is and remains a natural product. As a result of, for example, weather influences, the values may differ per tank.

We have the necessary permission and certificates. This allows us to legitimately drive our truck combination onto the loading dock to fill our tank with the seawater.

What is the seawater used for?

The seawater from the Oosterschelde is used for various purposes.

We provide sea aquariums from zoos, shops, wholesalers, hotels and restaurants with this seawater. We also transport seawater to various laboratories. Here it is used as breeding water for the glass aal, seaweed, sea lettuce and samphire.

We do not distinguish between business or private requests, but the minimum delivery is 1 m3 per freight.

In addition to transport in the Netherlands, we also take care of transport to Belgium, Germany, France and all countries of Europe.

The Fleet

We enjoy driving to all corners of Europe, with environmentally friendly vehicles powered by HVO fuel. This significantly reduces the emissions of particulate matter, soot, nitrogen and CO2. Co2 emissions up to 89%.

Who are we?

Van Helden Zeewatertransport is a family business and has its origins in manure transport. At the time, the “V.O.F. E. van Vugt Mesttransporten” approached for the monthly transport of seawater. Especially before each seawater transport, the manure tank was thoroughly cleaned. The news about these transports went from word of mouth. As a result, the tank is used more often for seawater transport than for manure transport.

More than twenty years ago it was decided to purchase a new tank. A tank especially for transporting only seawater. The equipment was also adapted to this. To ensure the purity of the seawater, special semi-trailers have been built. So that the natural seawater could be transported in its pure form. With this specialist equipment, Van Helden Zeewatertransport has been bringing the sea to its home for more than twenty years now.

The company is still in the hands of the family after all these years. Since 1 January 2016, the company has been completely taken over by daughter Lina van Helden-Van Vugt and son-in-law Henri van Helden.

Deliveries

We transport seawater every day of the week, so we deliver on any desired day or hour.

In Germany we supply 24,000 litres per freight, in Belgium 28,000 litres and in the Netherlands 35,000 litres per transport. The minimum delivery is 1000 liters.

On Sundays we only deliver in emergencies.
